In coordination with Residents Forward, PW Green, Transition Town Port Washington, the Port Washington School District, Littig House, and the National Park Service Rivers & Trails Conservation Assistance program, Terrapin is enhancing access and environmental education opportunities at a 17-acre woodland and meadow space in Port Washington, New York. Our efforts have included rehabilitating the ecology to remove invasive species and promote native plants; installing trails, observation stations, and information placards; and providing interdisciplinary lessons to local schools and the community.
